Bureau Plat - English in the French style Circa 1850's

From the private collection of Sir Godfrey Bergerac, the Bureau Plat features square tapering legs, faced with dripping coin and brass fillets, supported on foliage cup feet, are surmounted by moulded ormolu rectangles inset with myrtle motif, above ring and scroll capitals. The core timbers of the top and drawer linings are of solid mahogany. The ormolu mounts are 22 ct. gold Mercury gilded.
